  Job Description

  • Examine mechanical and quartz timepieces, disassemble them using precision tools, and inspect for worn, defective, or misaligned parts, rust, or other damage.

  • Repair or replace defective components, such as gears, springs, jewels, crystals, and electronic parts, to restore optimal function.

  • Fabricate or fit custom parts as needed to ensure proper assembly and performance of unique or vintage watches and clocks.

  • Test, adjust, and regulate timepiece movements using specialized equipment to ensure accuracy and precision.

  • Clean all internal components using ultrasonic or mechanical cleaning machines and special rinsing solutions to remove dirt, rust, and dried lubricants.

  • Reassemble and lubricate movements, ensuring each part is properly aligned and functioning to manufacturer specifications.

  • Maintain detailed records of repair work, parts used, and service history, and manage inventory of repair tools and spare components.

  • Provide expert advice to clients on proper care, usage, and maintenance of their watches and clocks; may also supervise and mentor junior technicians.
