Job Title: Personal Support Workers (44101)

Job Description:

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Canada, with locations in Peterborough and London, operates residential homes for Sisters requiring varying levels of care. We are committed to fostering a harmonious relationship with our planet and all life forms. Currently, we are seeking compassionate, dedicated team players to join our 24-hour, 20-bed care unit in Peterborough.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide care and companionship during periods of incapacitation and convalescence

·       Administer bedside and personal care, including ambulation assistance, bathing, hygiene, and dressing.

·       Plan and prepare meals, cater to special diets, and assist with feeding Sisters.

·       Perform routine health-related tasks under the supervision of the regulated health professional, such as dressing changes, medication administration assistance, and specimen collection.

·       Execute routine housekeeping duties like laundry, dishwashing, and bed-making.

 

Requirements:

·       Proof of 3 Covid-19 vaccinations.

·       Vulnerable sector police check.

·       Preferably 1 year of experience in a geriatric environment with a focus on person-centered care.

·       Appreciated experience with various forms of dementia.

·       Completion of PSW certification or in the process.

·       Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

 

 

Benefits:

·       Competitive pay: $24.65 - $29.67 per hour.

Language Requirement:

·       French proficiency not required.

 

Schedule:

·       Casual and reduced full-time positions.

·       All shifts available: day, evening, and night (8-hour shifts).

·       Weekend availability necessary.
