  Job Description

Housing Construction Inspector Responsibilities:

 

  • Regularly visit construction sites to ensure that all work complies with local building codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Examine and approve construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure they meet all legal and safety requirements.
  • Ensure that construction activities comply with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, and issue notices or orders for any violations.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, including photographs, notes, and reports, and document any discrepancies or issues identified.
  • Collaborate with contractors, builders, architects, and property owners to discuss inspection results, necessary corrections, and compliance requirements.
  • Approve and issue building permits, occupancy certificates, and other necessary documentation once the construction meets all regulatory standards.
  • Keep abreast of changes in building codes, zoning laws, and safety regulations, and apply this knowledge to inspections and plan reviews.

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications:

·        College diploma in construction, civil engineering or architectural technology

·        1+ years of work-related experience – Trade or as a Construction Inspector

·        Attention to detail and a good communicator

Compensation: $35 per hour

 

Location: Travel to different sites in the GTA will be required. The Head office is located at 155 Rexdale Blvd #502a, Etobicoke, ON M9W 5Z8
