  Job Description

  • Responsibilities:

    • Calculate accurate projections for the required workforce and materials for each project.
    • Create project layouts using measuring tools while ensuring compliance with local building regulations
    • Work with wood, substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials by measuring, cutting, shaping, and joining them for construction.
    • Generate detailed project bids and price estimates, including labor and material expenses.
    • Execute essential structural tasks like foundation work, installing floor beams, laying subfloors, and erecting walls and roof structures.
    • Accurately fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware to complete construction projects.
    • Organize and oversee project scheduling, ensuring efficient coordination among site workers.
    • Mentor and instruct apprentices, teaching them fundamental carpentry skills and techniques.
    • Continuously assess and manage costs and material usage to keep projects within budget.
    • Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial wooden structures in places like mills, hospitals, and industrial sites.

    Job Details:

    • Employment Type: Full-time, year-round
    • Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour
    • Work Hours: 35-40 hours per week
    • Overtime: 1.5 times the regular rate for hours worked over 8 hours per day and 44 hours per week.
    • Vacation Pay: 4% of base wages
    • Vacation: Two weeks of paid vacation per year

    Requirements:

    • At least 1 year of carpentry experience or related experience.
    • Completion of at least one year college education.
    • Knowledgeable in using various tools and equipment.
    • Ability to work efficiently and with attention to detail.
    • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
