Elysium Exteriors Ltd.Elysium Exteriors Ltd. has three open permanent full-time carpenter positions available in Victoria, BC, in the Vancouver Island area.Skills requirements: Candidates must have a high school diploma and over three years of work experience in the trade.Job duties: • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, and wood substitutes. • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Work with power/hand tools. • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Install floor beams, fit and install trim items such as doors, and windows. • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures. • Operates carpentry tools such as power and manual planes, saws, routers, shapers, drills, etc. Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications: • Candidates are expected to have a good attitude and like working with others. • Be punctual and self-motivated. • Physical ability/willingness to do heavy work, work at required heights, in all types of weather. Candidates with a background in both framing and siding are preferred. English is the language used on the job site.Position Details:This position is permanent, full-time. The salary depends on experience, ranging from $36.50 to $43.50 per hour. Overtime is paid at a rate of $54.75 to $65.25 per hour for any hours worked beyond 8 hours per day, in addition to 4% vacation pay. We are also ready to pay for the ticket for the skilled carpenter to relocate to Vancouver Island, BC from other parts of Canada. Carpenters willing to work part-time or flexible hours are welcome.
