Job description:
Location: 23 Inglis Place, Truro, Nova Scotia, B2N 4B5
Job duties:
- Preparing cooking ingredients including washing, peeling, cutting and slicing fruits and vegetables.
- Butchering and seasoning meat for various food menus.
- Mixing sauces according to the recipes.
- Receiving and unpacking food supplies; storing ingredients and food items according to food safety standards.
- Properly washing and drying all dishes, utensils, cooking instruments and cutting boards.
- Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment.
- Mopping and sweeping the kitchen areas and removing garbage.
- Complying with occupational, health and safety standards.
Qualification:
- High school graduated or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Language: Basic English
Work hours: 40 to 48 hours a week
Wage: $15 - $16 per hour
Benefits: 3 days paid personal days or sick leave / meals provided while on shifts
