Salary: $28.00 / hour for 40-60 Hours / Week

Job requirements:

Languages: English

Education: Secondary/high school graduation certificate

Experience: Experience is an asset

Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, Criminal record check

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's License (Class 1 or A), Air brakes Endorsement

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks, Sitting

Personal Suitability: Team player, Reliability, Organized, Flexibility

Specific Skills:

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Load and unload goods,
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo,
• Perform brake adjustments,
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials,
• Perform preventive maintenance,
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment,
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
