In this role, you contribute to “Taking Care of Banff” by maintaining the Town of Banff’s GIS asset database and working with a team of dedicated individuals to support service delivery of the Town of Banff’s infrastructure.
You are responsible for maintaining the GIS asset management system, including daily input, and editing of municipal infrastructure data. You are self-motivated and utilize several resources (such as survey plans, reports, meetings, and permits) for acquiring and analyzing infrastructure data to support asset management planning across the organization.
Your previous experience has prepared you for developing and maintaining high quality mapping products such as operational maps, project procurement maps, public facing maps, and digital mapping applications. In this role you work collaboratively with various departments to collect data and support operational needs for viewing and editing infrastructure data by the means of web-based GIS applications. With good communication skills you can organize meetings, understand user needs, and distribute appropriate infrastructure data to external agencies.
As the successful candidate, you possess a post secondary degree in GIS and are exceptional with the use of ESRI GIS software suite of products, particularly ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online, and are naturally proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel). With an understanding of asset management principles, you will assist with the development of asset management plans for the Town of Banff’s core asset groups. As GIS Asset Management Technician, you are also responsible for producing project cost estimates and providing input on the 10-year capital plan for road reconstruction projects.

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $85,000 per year.
