Job description:

Types of Farming: Vegetable crops field and greenhouse

Duties: Cultivate seed plant irrigate fertilize spray weed and harvest crops; detect disease and health problems in crops; set and monitor water lines air flow and temperature in cold-frames; sort pack weigh examine for quality and prepare products for market and delivery; load and unload products and materials; operate and maintain farm machinery equipment and trucks; store products into coolers; complete inventory sheets; clean and maintain farm machinery equipment and buildings; comply with health and safety procedures; perform other general farm duties as required.

Types of Equipment: Tractor farm truck tillage equipment seed drill planting equipment fertilizer crop sprayer loader lift truck manure spreader vacuum cooler power jacks

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment work under pressure tight deadlines repetitive tasks handling heavy loads (40-50lb) physically demanding attention to detail hand-eye co-ordination ability to distinguish between colours sound discrimination combination of standing for extended periods sitting walking bending crouching and kneeling.

Work Site Environment: Outdoors confined spaces wet/damp noisy odours dusty hot cold/refrigerated
