Job title: Flexographic Press Operator (NOC 73401)

Start date: As soon as possible

Terms of employment: Full-time (30-40 hw)

Salary: 23.50-24.00 PER HOUR

Experience preferred: 2 to 3 years, no education required

Responsibilities Description:

 • Set up 4 color Flexo printing press.

• Set up, adjust, maintain, and operate a flexographic press - Working under minimum supervision.

• Install the printing plate with the images to be printed.

• Thorough understanding of imposition, trapping, troubleshooting, and color correction.

• Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation for pressroom operations.

• Ensure tools and supplies are properly maintained.

• Perform required maintenance and daily housekeeping on the press and surrounding area.

• Work closely with teams/departments to create an environment supporting workflow and continuous improvement of all pressroom operations.

• Work safely, abide by and promote established safety policies and procedures. Identify and follow up on unsafe conditions.

• Understand solvent ink as it relates to the process of printing.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.

• Self-motivated, punctual, consistent, productive as well as efficient

• Must be detail-oriented with little supervision.

 

More specifically skills may include:

Mount plates or cylinders and make necessary adjustments, Fill ink fountains and control color and viscosity, Set up press and operate at slow speed to check samples, Monitor regular press run for quality using computer control console, Remove and clean plates and cylinders at end of press run, Set up and adjust in-line binding and finishing equipment, Review job orders to determine job specifications such as production time, color sequence and quantities required, and advise press crew of these specifications.
